FEATURED PROJECT
2012 Rocky Mountain Bicycle Paper
In April, The Bicycle Paper's first Rocky Mountain edition will be distributed via newsstands throughout the Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins area. This new publication will focus on all things cycling within the Rocky Mountain Region. After Bicycle Paper's successful foray into this market with the Rocky Mountain Tour and Racing Guide five years ago, it seemed fitting to expand the paper's reach within this active and growing cycling market. Using the same format as it's Northwest sibling, the Rocky Mountain edition will be produced three times a year and featuring news, cycling, and event information specific to this region.
TIPS & TRICKS
Preparing Your Content for the Next Catalog or Website Updated
Even though database-driven publishing reduces time and effort, before you are able to leverage the savings from automated page flows your content needs to be ready. Here are some questions to ask when reviewing your content's readiness before production.
Images
Do you have all the current images for the products to be featured in the catalog: 300 dpi, CMYK, backgrounds removed? Many times we have gone on the great image search, slowing down production and creating possible roadblocks to final page layout.
DID YOU KNOW?
That Seattle Publishing's offices were originally the printing facility for Lowman & Hanford, Seattle's first printer. After Seattle's great fire of 1889, which had destroyed their original building, they decided that a steel beam frame and brick exterior would be a safer bet and they were right.

The Gutenberg Publishing System's® namesake, Johannes Gutenberg, defined modern publishing when he blended 1400’s ink, type and mechanical technology to invent the moveable type press. With the same drive towards efficiency, Seattle Publishing’s database-driven system helps organizations manage their information and streamline the production process for print- and web-based publications.
