The Story

After launching a new fundraising event, The People's Coast Classic bicycle tour, and its companion website in 2010, the following year The Arthritis Foundation decided that they would need a backend that could support web updates by its staff instead of using their web developer, thus lowering maintenance costs. They needed an affordable solution for their non-profit's budget.

We suggested setting up a WordPress-based content management system (CMS) with a custom theme. By using an open-source CMS with the ability integrate many different online features, we were able to add more functionality, such as a full-featured e-commerce system, at an affordable price. In addition, WordPress allows The Foundation's staff to update nearly all content on their own, thereby streamlining the process. Now there's no need to request a change and then wait for two days for it to be done; they can simply log in to the site and change content themselves.

By integrating an open-source CMS backend, Seattle Publishing was able to provide the right tool for updating The Arthritis Foundation's website so the non-profit is in a better position to reach its fundraising and organizational goals.
